Back to Work

Monday, November 21st, 2011

After ten days off it is time to head back to work, I find the more time that passes between trips the less motivated I am to return back to work. I do enjoy my job, but I enjoy my time at home with my family much more! I fly with so many that feel the same way, yet they continue to work week after week, month after month and year after year not taking any action to be able to free themselves from their job.

I am sure that you have heard of the 40/40/40 plan. You work 40 hours a week for 40 years then retire at 40 percent of your pay. That is the plan most people are working on today and it sucks. I like to ask the question, if you find it difficult to live on 100 percent of what you make how do you think it will be living on 40 percent or less. Many do not have a good answer. I have stop trying to convince friends and family that are in this situation why it is not a good one.

The team that I am working with today knows this to be true and are working hard to free themselves from the 40/40/40 plan. Most of them do not hate their jobs, but want the option to live their lives the way they want to. It is nice not to have to worry about if or when you may lose your job. Network marketing is really taking off, many people are realizing that there is no job security and are starting to take action. I think all of us want financial security and independence, it is just most are not willing to work for it.

Today it is easier than ever to grow your business, with the spread of the internet and social media you can explode your business in the first few weeks. You just have to be on the right team, have the right opportunity and be willing to do a little work. The choice is yours to make, you can keep playing the lottery hoping to score that winning ticket or take a more productive and certain route and get involved with me and my team.

Where does the time go?

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

Last Monday was my sons first day at school, man where does the time go? I do not remember my first day of school, but I remember it seem like I was going to school forever and was never going to grow up. It was not until I finished college that things started moving quickly, then once I had my son, time seems to have gone into a hyper drive mode. He turn five last month and it really does seem like just a year ago he was born.

My point is, life is truly short and since we only get one shot at it we need to make it count. I have high expectations for myself and my son. I work hard everyday to provide a good quality life for me and my family. Working a good job can provide you with a good quality life, but often comes with a price, your time. Trading you hours for dollars really gets old after a while and when you find yourself working more hours so you can make more money, that is when your quality of life can take a turn for the worse.

It is nice to have a beautiful home and lots of toys, but if you are never there to enjoy those things, what good are they? That is why so many people have turn to network marketing or direct sales. Real estate was really big until the housing market crashed, then everyone in real estate was scrambling to find another way to earn a residual income. Having your own business is great on so many levels, but you have to be able to work on your business more than in your business.

With technology it is possible to start and grow your network marketing business with very little money, if any at all. The gentleman that introduced me to this business is making over 15,000 a month now and he has done so using Facebook and YouTube. He has built a quality team of individuals that are all working toward a common goal, financial independence. It is simply people helping people to grow their business little by little until one day you look back and 18 months after starting, you are now earning more in your part time business than your full time job. It happens everyday with this business.

I have mentioned before that I do love to fly and will do so as long as I am able, but it is nice to know that if something does happen that I have a solid plan B in place that will allow me to provide a good quality of life for me and my family. I have several businesses in place that if something where to happen to my job, I would not have to scramble or worry until I found another. I would be able to work from home and enjoy my life with no worries, what is your plan B, what would you do if you lost your job tomorrow? Think about it sooner than later, these are very uncertain times that we live in today and anything can happen at the blink of an eye!

Weathering the storm

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

It is that time again, time for another 4 day trip and like most people on the east coast I am grateful that hurricane Irene is gone! It is always a little nerve racking when any type of bad weather approaches where you live, especially if you happen to be out of town when it hits. I have concern for my family any time I see bad weather approaching the North Carolina area.
We are very fortunate when it comes to our weather, typically we have a nice spring and fall and there is only a brief period that we have to experience the extreme heat of the summer or freezing temperatures in the winter. I will never understand how someone continues to live in an area that is plagued with bad weather. How many times can you rebuild your home after a tornado, fire, earthquake or hurricane has destroyed it?
It is not just the weather that I am concerned about today. I am concerned about the overall health and wealth of our entire nation, except for the politicians and upper management for most corporations. Those guys will make sure they get a nice retirement and medical care at our expense. It is criminal what is happening in our country today with regards to our economy, I have to disagree with Gordon Gecko from the movie Wall Street, greed is not good.
The bottom line is that we must look out for ourselves, you cannot depend on anyone to provide for you or take care of you. If you do not have a sustainable business or a side income in addition to your job, what happens when you get hurt, laid off, fired, downsized, forced out or out sourced? It is more important now than ever to create multiple streams of income coming into your household. If you and your wife work that is great, if you can survive on just one of those incomes that is even better. Why not stack the deck in your favor? You both can have a side business that will not take up much up your time and in a couple of years can be generating an income as much or more than your full time job.
Odds are today that it is taking everything you make just to get by. Most people in this country are living paycheck to paycheck and making one excuse after another why they cannot have the life they want. There are opportunities all around, but you have to be willing and ready to take that chance and do the work. I have talked with many that say they have tried network marketing before and it wasn’t for them, they could not make any money. Most of them had a lottery type mentality, just because you start a business and those on your team are successful does not mean that you will be too. You have to take some responsibility for yourself, learn what to do and how to do it. You need to have a strong desire to be successful.
You have to take some time to learn the business, education is very important. Learn and do what those in your business are doing that are successful. They should be an invaluable source of information for you, they should be able to show you how to market, what is working and what is not, how to generate leads and what to do with them when they start to come in. Don’t quit is the best advice, once you start do not stop. Take action everyday, do or learn something everyday that will help to grow your business.
This type of business is unlike anything I have every seen before, it does not matter what your education is or where you live. There are average people in this business making six figures a month just because they took action, believed in themselves and kept at it. It will not happen over night, but can easily happen for you in a couple of years. Check out this link below and learn how to build a retirement income for yourself in as little as two years. It does not require a lot of your time and we have a system that will do most of the work for you.

It is the little things in life!

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011

It is so difficult most days to keep things in prospective. We lead such busy lives that we are consumed everyday with work, home, business, family, finances and the future of our country. I am guilty of getting so caught up in the madness that is my life, that I often over look the little things that can make life worth living.

Everyday that I am at home it is easy to be thankful for where I am and what I have in my life. To see my son smile, to hear him tell me that I am the best daddy in the world, for my wife to hug me and tell me that she is proud of me and kiss me just because. The quality time by the pool we spend or hanging out on the boat. Life is good on my days off, but not so much when I have to head off to work to fly a four day trip.

This week was a little different, for the first time in a long time the weather was good, we were on time every leg and I am flying with a great crew, so the complaining was minimal. Like I have mentioned before I do love to fly, I saw some beautiful sunsets over Lake Michigan this trip as well as a beautiful sunrise this morning while we were leveling at 37,000 feet from Fargo, N.D. To Chicago. I wish every week was this enjoyable!

Life can’t always be good , but we should try to stack the deck in our favor when possible. Work on things at home to make them better, go for the job or the business that you really want. I fly with quite a few pilots that this is their second career. My First Officer last month use to be a C.P.A. And at 40 years old just could not see doing that for the rest of his life. He always wanted to fly, so he started taking lessons and a few short years later had his first airline job.

You only get one shot, never let anyone discourage you from taking a chance or changing direction in your life, enjoy your life and live it the way that makes you happy. Enjoy the little things in life and don’t sweat the small stuff, life is too short!

Good to Great

Tuesday, August 9th, 2011

There is a book titled “Good to Great” that is definitely a must read. One line in the book says that good is the enemy of great, I had to think about that for a minute to really understand what exactly was being said. As I have mentioned before, I am not the brightest light in the hall. Thank God you do not have to be in order to achieve success in your life, you just have to be willing to work hard, learn new strategies and be persistent with your goals.

I had a conversation with my mother this morning and she said that I had done good with my life so far, most would take that as a compliment and I did as well because it was said with good intentions. However, good is not good enough for me. I am very grateful everyday for all that is good in my life, but I work very hard to make it great. Good enough is for lazy people, good enough makes you complacent in your job and in your life.

I feel that everyone should do what makes them happy, if you are happy where you are in life that is great, but I find so few are happy these days. There are many reasons not to be and many places to point the finger and place blame as to why we are not happy. We must first start with ourselves, I say this because I work with so many different people, all with similar complaints. Most everyone wants to make more money and have more time to spend with family or just doing things that they enjoy.

It will always be difficult to achieve those things working a job. A job controls most of your life and when you trade your time for money you will discover that in order to make more money you have to give more of your time, and that just sucks. Not so if you have your own business, the right kind of business I should say. The secret to freedom is having a residual income coming in, you do the work once and receive the benefit from that work over and over again.

Real estate and network marketing are the best two models that I have discovered that provide me with a residual income. Real estate contains a higher risk than network marketing, but I also believe in being diversified as well. I would never put all of my hopes and dreams into any one thing. If you are interested in having a nice residual income or developing your own retirement plan you should check out the link below. This company will provide you a way to generate an additional income and provide yourself with a great retirement with minimal effort in a very short period of time.

What is Success?

Monday, August 1st, 2011

I think success has many different meanings, some tie success to their financial well being, for others it is how far they progress in their chosen career field. I feel very fortunate when I get to see those close to me achieve success in their lives, especially when I have the opportunity to play a part in it. When I see friends and family around me experience success and achieve financial freedom by accomplishing their goals, it is a feeling like none other.

I just had one of my best friends get hired as a pilot at FedEx, for those not in the airline business, getting a flying job with FedEx is like hitting the lottery. They treat their people well, have the best contract in the business and you can earn a very good salary working for them. Jav has worked very hard to make this a reality in his life and I could not be happier for him! I wish I could have him in my business, he would do very well, but he and I define success differently.

I have never met anyone that loves flying more than Jav and he dedicates a large portion of his time giving back to the industry by visiting local high schools and colleges educating children about aviation and the industry. Jav also works hard to rise money for the USO and for our Veterans, after serving in the Navy he has a strong sense of duty to give back to those who have served our country. He will be missed very much at American Eagle, but I know nothing will make him happier than flying that huge MD11 around the globe. It is a great gig for the small number of pilots that make it through the process and get hired. Congratulations Jav!

Others measure success depending on how well their business is doing. I guess there is no wrong way to measure success in your life. I am big on setting goals and working hard to achieve them. If you go through life without goals, without a purpose, you will feel empty and lost. Set goals for yourself and take the steps necessary to achieve them and do not quit. It is really that simple, I get very frustrated when I fly with people that constantly complain about everything in their life, but yet take no action to change it.

No matter what you do or what your goals are in life, do not let the current state of our country or our economy get you down. My business is doing very well, people are looking to better themselves physical and financially. As more baby boomers retire they are searching for ways to stay young and feel good. Also, after seeing their stock portfolios and real estate investments take a dive they are looking for ways to generate an additional income in their life.

Times Have changed

Monday, July 25th, 2011

I have had several conversations with people recently about what it takes to start and run a successful business today. A few years ago I would have agreed with most of their opinions, but today it is so much easier to start and run your own business. There is still the traditional brick and mortar business such as your franchises, which carry a heavy fee to get started and take a lot of time and effort to achieve any level of success,

Based on the power of the internet and social media, I have to recommend that the best business to start is one that can be ran from anywhere. One that if you have a phone and a laptop you can be up and running. This is possible with real estate, network marketing, drop shipping, e stores, etc. There are many possibilities for someone that is looking for a better way to earn a living instead of killing yourself everyday with your job.

You have to have the drive, motivation and determination to make it a reality. Most that start do fail, because they do not stick with it. There is a learning curve and you have to push through the pain before you will experience the success you are searching for. For those that really want to achieve success and financial freedom, those select few that push through the pain fine success.

If you are serious about success and you are looking for a way to achieve it in your life, just give me a call or send me an email. I would be glad to send some information to you about the many different ways you can begin to generate money online and start to build something that will support you and your family for the rest of your life. We all deserve a better way of life, it is unfortunate that only a select few ever achieve it. Will you be one?
